Jessy Lanza and her album
Pull My Hair Back has become a recent obsession of mine. It has all of the essential elements that I personally love in an album: isolation, despair, longing, sensuality and chilly electronica all wrapped in Jessy Lanza's sexy vocals. The quarterly electronic jornal,
self-titled asked her about where inspiration came from for the album. Her response conjures fantastic imagery and references that provide extra context to future (or perhaps, a first) listening of a favorite record of mine.
