Jessy Lanza and her album Pull My Hair Back has become a recent obsession of mine. It has all of the essential elements that I personally love in an album: isolation, despair, longing, sensuality and chilly electronica all wrapped in Jessy Lanza's sexy vocals. The quarterly electronic jornal, self-titled asked her about where inspiration came from for the album. Her response conjures fantastic imagery and references that provide extra context to future (or perhaps, a first) listening of a favorite record of mine.

Smashing Pumpkins' upcoming album
Billy Corgan and friends are back at it again with a new album coming not soon enough. They're leaking one track a month until it's done sometime late 2010. They'll also be touring behind the working album in the spring. "A Song For A Son" is the first release. Teargarden by Kaleidyscope is a massive project and will encapsulate 44 tracks! Smashing Pumpkins fans rejoice!

More Exile
At this point it probably seems like I'm riding d*. Don't care. Exile gives good interviews, has a transparent love for the art and genre, is revolutionizing and inventing new ways to utilize old instruments, and ignantwitted included some dope footage I haven't seen before.
